Job Description

Working within the Pilot Plant we are looking to a Technician to help support the Plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing daily checks/calibrations, housekeeping, equipment maintenance and maintaining a stock of consumables.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Daily tasks around the plant, including equipment calibrations, housekeeping, maintaining stocks of consumable items, blowing down boilers
  • Preventative maintenance of equipment such as vacuum pumps, thermal control units, gas detectors
  • Checking/sampling/adjusting systems such as purified water generator, wet scrubbers, dosing tanks, carbon adsorption units
  • Weighing out raw materials
  • Complete and review logbooks and relevant documentation promptly and accurately
  • Ensure that plant safety is maintained and safety procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure operational procedures are followed
  • Identify and suggest areas where improvements can be made. Participate fully and diligently in project schemes to support continuous improvement.

  • Good communicator, able to liaise between different departments
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Good time management and prioritisation capabilities
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently on your own and as part of a team
  • IT literate with good Microsoft Office skills.
