Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join the Logistics Team at our site in Abingdon. This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday starting ASAP.
Role: Warehouse Operative
Role Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday to Fridays, days.
Salary: £25,400, dependant on skills and experience, plus excellent benefits package plus annual bonuses
Location: Milton Park, Abingdon, Oxford OX14 4RY
Key Responsibilities will include
To ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner and that all equipment and racking is regularly checked and complies with Safety Legislation
Changing gas cylinders, refilling liquid nitrogen containers
Support of regular warehouse supplies, warehousing, picking and internal distribution, returning of goods
To ensure the warehouse ERP system is accurately maintained in terms of stock quantity, location.
Material Resource Planning for >400 inventory parts & >10,000 SKU’s
Shop floor management with daily morning meetings
Carrying out monthly stock-takes
Invoice and query management to assist Purchasing & Finance
Provide support on other duties when required
Physical Transfer of stock within Milton Park sites
Maintain Good Housekeeping in the warehouse and assist with 5S implementation within the department.
Essential Knowledge & Skills
Must have experience with Warehouse ERP Systems
Team player with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Leadership capabilities to assign work for daily running of warehouse.
Ability to assess, correct & prevent inefficiencies within warehouse.
Shop floor management experience
Previous warehouse operations experience, ideally in laboratories/ pharma
Knowledge of Microsoft applications specifically Excel / willingness to improve knowledge and apply to daily workload.
Flexible, enthusiastic and reliable
To be a subject matter expert in 3 or more roles within the team
Proactive approach to work with the ability to problem solve issues.
Positive attitude towards continuous improvement projects.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities:
Counter balance, VNA, Reach License
IATA/ADR certification
Experience and knowledge of COSHH regulations
Driving License
