Who they are

Emergex are developing an extensive range of CD8+ T cell-priming immune set-point candidates using two proprietary technologies designed to elicit a broad and long-lasting cellular immune response effective against an entire family of viruses and possible variants of concern, enabling robust protection against some of the world’s most impactful infectious diseases.

Job Description

• BSc or MSc in a biological science, ideally with several years of laboratory experience but exceptional recent graduates with a science-based degree will also be considered.
• Practical experience in cell culture, with meticulous attention to detail and aseptic technique.
• Knowledge of HTA regulations would be advantageous.
• Technical expertise in flow cytometry, designing panels and analysis of flow data using FlowJo software.
• Experience in other immune related assays (e.g., EliSPOT, AIM, ELISA) would be advantageous.
• Providing routine lab support and performing lab maintenance activities.
• Ensuring all safety guidelines are adhered to and help to maintain a clean and organised environment.
• When trained you will be encouraged to perform research projects, under supervision.
• Writing/revising/maintaining lab protocols and databases.
• Assisting in blood and/or tissue preparation for immune cell isolation and downstream analyses.
• Communicating results through high quality technical reports and oral presentations.
• Planning, analysis, reviewing and troubleshooting of experiments.
• Development of new skills and knowledge necessary to successfully support assigned projects.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for a technician with a background in cell biology and immunology to join a small friendly research team responsible for in vitro testing of gold nanoparticles and test vaccines on cell lines and primary cells. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills They will be able to work independently as well as thrive working in a multidisciplinary team.
