A buzzing visit to Bright Horizons
Published on 09 August 2022

Milton Park’s expert beekeeper Dave Taylor visited pre-school children at Bright Horizons Day Nursery recently to talk about bees and the amazing work they do for the ecosystem.
The children had the opportunity to dress up in little beekeeper suits and thoroughly enjoyed running around and wiggling like bees doing the "waggle dance".
If you went to a 'Meet the bees' session in June, you will know what the waggle dance is but if you didn't, there's a short clip on our YouTube channel which explains it:
Due to the popularity of the event, we are running more 'Meet the bees' sessions on Friday 19 August. This is an exciting opportunity to see the Milton Park honeybees up close and personal (with protective equipment) and learn more about these pollinators. Children over six years old are also welcome to attend, making it a nice school holiday activity. But bee quick... Remaining spaces are limited.
Dave Taylor is Regional Manager at Nurture Landscapes, which won us a BALI Landscaping Award for Ground Maintenance last year. He recently stared in our Park People series. Read more about Dave's role and the work Nurture Landscapes does at Milton Park here.
