Company Spotlight: Dress’d
Published on 13 December 2024
Shaking up lunchtimes with bold flavours, the Milton Park team chatted to Park-based Dress’d, to find out how they ensure lunch is no boring affair.
Stewing on an idea
Dress’d came from a simple desire: no more sandwiches for lunch. After crossing paths on a business park, its co-founders decided they were ready for something more exciting than the usual lunch fare and their journey for big flavours began.
Since the brand launched earlier this year, Dress’d has gained a loyal following with its focus on seasonal salads and its newly introduced hearty stews. The team’s headquarters are in Abingdon, while its Milton Park unit opens every weekday from 9am to 3pm, or until the food runs out! Beyond its retail units, Dress’d offers catering services for meetings and events, accommodating groups of up to 100.
Dress’d to impress
The secret behind Dress’d’s growing popularity? According to co-founder Ed Vaughan-Fowler, it’s all about vibrancy.
Ed commented: “Dress’d is a small food brand that thinks lunch could be far more interesting than it currently is. We’re big on flavour, vibrancy and customer service.”
Focusing on high-quality ingredients and creative flavour combinations, Dress’d serves comfort food with a twist to brighten up the workday. A more recent crowd-pleaser is its chicken, leek and smoked bacon stew, which is served with pesto pearl barley and homemade rosemary focaccia.
Since opening the Milton Park unit at 180 Park Drive by the lagoon, Dress’d has quickly become a lunchtime favourite.
Ed added: “For us, Milton Park was an ideal place to set up and serve a really eclectic mix of people. Opening a unit here has been a great move to expand our customer base.
“There’s a real community on the Park, which has been key for us, as we rely almost exclusively on word of mouth.”
Any tips for Christmas dinner?
Dress’d shared some top tips for taking Christmas dinner to the next level.
Ed shared: “The secret is making the perfect roast potatoes. Scratch them aggressively with a fork after parboiling, drizzle them with pre-heated goose fat at 200°C and roast for 40 minutes. It’s the crispy magic you need!”
A new (salad) leaf
Looking to the future, Ed has big ambitions: to grow and build a recognisable food brand that challenges the industry status quo.
With creative menus, warm service and a love for great food, Dress’d aims to keep lunchtimes vibrant and exciting for everyone at Milton Park.
