Full steam ahead at Signal Yard

Tracking progress
Have you noticed something different? Whether you’ve travelled to Milton Park by car, bus, or train, walked or cycled down Park Drive, you might have spotted some exciting changes! The new colourful hoardings have certainly brightened up the area.
The fondly remembered tent canopy has been removed, opening up opportunities for enhancing the landscape. This change is designed to create a more welcoming environment with more space for greenery, seating and pedestrian-friendly areas.
A timelapse camera has been installed at the development site so we can view construction progress
Removal of the light-blocking tent opens opportunities for landscape architecture, including raised planters and a cascading garden and space for outdoor seating and events.
The ground floor strip out in all four buildings is well underway. This will allow former office space to be converted into vibrant retail and leisure spaces featuring beautiful timber shopfronts and floor-to-ceiling glazing.
The use of timber, instead of aluminium or steel cladding, is part of a sustainability strategy. The development aims to adhere to the highest environmental standards by repurposing existing buildings, utilising natural resources, and reducing carbon production.
Once complete, the buildings will feature a new series of timber shopfronts, a unifying green colour scheme and a timber-framed extension facing Park Drive and the outdoor events space.
A tree survey has been carried out at Milton Park. Tree surgeons will be on site from Monday 10 – Thursday 13 February to carry out tree pruning works around 2, 3 and 4 Park Square.
