The annual travel survey covers the same dates each year, so we can compare years. This year the timing of the survey coincided with unprecedented rainfall in September/ October which impacted on people’s travel modes, with many more than usual choosing to work from home.
We have listened to people’s feedback in the survey and are continuing our work to further improve bus services and to put pressure on the local authority to improve the cycle network in the area. Several respondents commented on the bus services:
Several people provided positive feedback on Milton Park £20 bus pass:
“The bus pass for Milton Park is FANTASTIC!”
We acknowledge that there has been a lot of demand for expanding the bus pass zone and we are constantly reviewing our sustainable travel options with the primary objective of reducing single occupancy vehicle use. We know people would love to see the £20 bus pass zone expanded, or additional discounts on bus fares from other areas, but we are mindful of the commercial needs of the local bus operators.
We recognise that there is a continuous requirement to further improve punctuality of buses and we are working with local stakeholders to achieve these improvements.
Thank you once again to all those who completed the survey.
